Interesting and depressing perspective on the European startup financing

VentureBeat wrote an interesting post about the state of the startup financing in Europe. In short the lack of exit perspective in the form of IPO’s or M&A is to some extent a show stopper for VC’s. Hence they tend to invest in fewer companies, however with larger amounts to take them to profitability. Unlike the US market where M&A is strong, which opens the opportunity for many small startups to get into the radar screen of large ones and at some point be backed up.
