New features on Blastfeed: #2 - creating a channel of channels

February 5, 2007 – 8:38 pm

You may now create a channel not only with feeds to monitor but also with other channels of yours. What does this mean ? Remember, a channel in Blastfeed defines

  • What to search for, i.e. a set of keywords defining a topic you are interested in.
  • Where, i.e. in which content sources (feeds) these keywords will be detected.

You can now create a channel containing unfiltered feeds and filtered feeds, e.g. you create channel A filtering 10 feeds for say web2.0. You then create channel B containing important feeds you do not want to filter about web2.0. You add to channel B your channel A and as a result you get a mix of feeds, some filtered, others not filtered.

Sort of a smart river of news.

You will notice when creating  a new channel a new tab called “my channels” from which you can select any one channel of yours.

We’ll soon add a way for any user to share their channels with other users should they wish to do so. Hence any shared channel will be available to others for inclusion in new channels.
